Movement Disorders Series
The Movement Disorder Series are knowledge-based webinars to provide VHA healthcare professionals with current practice standards and emerging trends in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders. Continuing Education for Professionals is typically provided for the live webinars. The webinars are offered 2 times a year and are approximately 4 hours in length. Parkinson’s Disease 101: |
This virtual program is designed for clinical professionals. Each presentation will focus on a review of the literature and shared current best practices based on the evaluation and treatment of adults with movement disorders. This live knowledge-based webinar is intended for interprofessional healthcare teams who are interested in learning more about the trajectory, symptom management and quality of life for those living with Parkinson’s Disease. The webinar will help bridge the knowledge gap when it comes to what is currently being done in the VA and introducing new concepts in the diagnosis and treatment of movement disorders. |

This Continuing Education series is designed to provide VHA healthcare providers with current practice standards and emerging trends in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders. This webinar will provide healthcare teams an introduction to diagnosing and treating movement disorders, such as Parkinson’s Disease, and discuss how we can utilize physical therapy and the Whole Health Approach to treating our patients. This training is appropriate for healthcare teams. |

| Movement Disorders Series Part II | This course is intended for health professionals who are interested learning more Parkinson’s disease beyond pharmacological interventions. This series will cover common neuropsychiatric challenges and treatments; discuss candidacy for deep brain stimulation surgery and demystify the neurosurgical procedures that we can offer to our Parkinson’s population. This virtual program is designed for the providers who care for veterans with Parkinson’s Disease. This live knowledge-based webinar is intended for interprofessional healthcare teams who are interested in learning more about specific non-motor symptoms in Parkinson’s Disease. This series will cover interdisciplinary interventions focusing on palliative care and the role of the social worker in the care of this patient population.
